Rosili, a 12-year-old girl, noticed that the new playground being constructed at Thornock Park seemed more suited for older kids. Wanting a space where she could play with her younger sisters, she took the initiative to sketch out her ideal playground. Her detailed designs included features for children of all ages, promoting inclusivity.
With support from her mother, Rosili brought her playground designs to Clearfield City Hall, where she met Eric Howes, the community services director. Howes was impressed by Rosili's thoughtful work and shared that although the Thornock Park project was nearly complete, her plans could be used for a new playground at Bicentennial Park.
Rosili remained involved throughout the project, meeting with city officials and playground equipment vendors to ensure her vision was brought to life. Her excitement grew with each meeting, and finally, the playground she designed opened at Bicentennial Park, where she proudly cut the ribbon during the opening ceremony. This inclusive space now serves children of all ages in the community.
